This policy explains how Muscat Service Station (“MSS”, “we”), a car rental company in Al Khuwair, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, handles personal data when you visit www.muscatservicestation.com, contact us, or rent a car from us.

What we collect

• Website analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location (city or country), and when someone taps a WhatsApp or phone button. We do not send the text of your messages or any details you type to Google Analytics. Google signals and advertising personalisation are turned off.
• Enquiries. The booking-dates form and the MSS Rent Assist chat prepare a WhatsApp message on your device. Nothing you type there is stored or sent to us until you choose to send it through WhatsApp. When you message or call us, we receive what you share, such as your name, phone number, preferred car, dates and pickup location.
• Rentals. To rent a car we need the driver’s name, contact details, driving licence and passport or resident card, plus details needed for the rental contract, payment and deposit.

How we use it

• To answer your enquiry, confirm availability and price, and arrange delivery or pickup.
• To prepare and manage your rental contract, deposit and any traffic fines or damage claims.
• To meet legal requirements in Oman, including requests from the Royal Oman Police or other authorities.
• To improve the website, using analytics in aggregate.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

• Service providers that run parts of our service: WhatsApp (Meta) for messages, Google for analytics, and Cloudflare for hosting this website.
• Authorities, when the law requires it.
• Insurers, if there is an accident or claim involving your rental.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) to count visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the website still works without them.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry messages only as long as needed to handle your request. We keep rental records for as long as Omani law and our contracts require, then delete them. Analytics data is kept according to our Google Analytics retention setting, for at most 14 months.

Your rights

Under Oman’s Personal Data Protection Law (Royal Decree 6/2022) you can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw your consent. Contact us and we will reply within a reasonable time.
